The first One Day International of the 5-match series between England and Pakistan was abandoned due to rain and now the two teams regroup with hopes of playing a rain-free game at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. Rain and cloud cover is expected in the morning while the sky will open up as the day progresses, but that means fielding first would be the right decision for the captain who wins the toss.
Pakistan has been shambolic in the previous assignments, which included a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Australia in UAE. With the ICC World Cup only a few weeks away, there wouldn't be a better opportunity for Sarfraz Ahmed's men to correct their mistakes and head into the showpiece event with confidence.
The remaining matches of the series hold extra importance for the likes of Joe Denly and Mohammad Amir, two players who aren't in their respective teams' 15-man squads for the World cup but are still in the fray as reserves.
