Even as Reliance Jio GigaFiber has announced the commercial launch of its high-speed internet offerings, Tata Sky has extended its broadband operations to three new cities, bringing the total to 20 cities, reports Telecom Talk.
The three new locations are Lucknow, Navi Mumbai, and Surat. This marks the company’s latest push to gain market share in Tier-II towns. Reliance Jio GigaFiber is not just a competitor for Tata Sky in the broadband space but is also a direct threat to the company in the DTH segment, which is its primary source of revenue.
