The traditional way of accessing the internet may now be a talk of the past as Industry giants are lining up to beam the internet from space. Tech giants like SpaceX, Amazon, and OneWeb are looking to build alternatives to the existing network by creating internet infrastructure in space.
The existing infrastructure to use the internet is attributed to a vast network of undersea cables through which almost 99 percent of the world’s data traffic flows having risks of damage by sea creatures, ships anchor or deep sea earthquakes.
These companies are planning to launch a constellation of satellites at various altitudes to beam the internet, which will orbit Earth at relatively low altitudes reducing the involved latency.
